About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fleet Operations Manager to join our team in Melbourne. This key position plays a vital role in ensuring the effective operation, management, and leadership of fleet-related activities across multiple locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, up-to-date vehicle servicing, staff training and development, effective cost management, and achieving performance targets related to service levels (DIFOT).

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage pickup and delivery requirements effectively.
  • Ensure the repair and maintenance of all fleet-related assets are conducted on time and within budget.
  • Oversee compliance training for PUD employees to maintain high standards.
  • Achieve optimal utilisation of company assets and reduce reliance on external hires.
  • Lead staff management, including leave and RDO planning, as well as peak period management.
  • Sustainably improve systemic processes, such as scanning and reducing manual efforts.
  • Meet and exceed key metrics like load utilisation, tonnes per hour, contacts per hour, futile, and carry-over freight.
  • Promote active leadership and engagement during peak periods.
  • Participate in or conduct regular safety inspections and observations.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for this role, along with the capacity to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. A strong understanding of fleet operations, transportation management systems, and relevant legislation is also required.

What We Offer
As a valued member of our team, you can expect a competitive salary of $95,000 - $110,000 per annum, based on your experience and qualifications.
