About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operations of the region's road network.

  • Develop and implement long-term strategies for improving the road infrastructure
  • Manage major road construction and renewal projects, including pavement rehabilitation, road construction, concrete structures such as bridges, culverts, and footpaths
  • Prioritize infrastructure needs and ensure effective project delivery
  • Maintain high standards for road works, ensuring timely completion within budget and schedule
  • Attend council meetings, prepare reports, and provide advice to senior managers on projects
Requirements
  • Relevant degree qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in managing roads infrastructure maintenance and construction
  • Some experience working with local government
  • Project management skills with extensive experience in complex infrastructure projects
  • Class C (standard) Driver's Licence
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven ability to manage business processes, budgets, and financial resources effectively
  • Highly developed communication skills (oral and written)
