Child Protection Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Child Protection Specialist to join our team in Mackay, QLD. As a key member of our community support services, you will play a crucial role in delivering care services to children, young people and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carer recruitment, training and assessments, as well as delivering information sessions and pre-service training for prospective carers
- Negotiating family support plans and undertaking placement coordination activities
- Providing therapeutic and practical support services to children, young people, carers and families
Requirements:
- Degree qualification in social work, psychology, social sciences or a related discipline
- Minimum two years' experience in the provision of care services to children, young people and their families in statutory care
- Demonstrated experience in providing training to carers and applying assessment, crisis intervention and short-term intervention skills and therapeutic approaches
