Torres Strait Islander Community Engagement Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Aboriginal School and Community Worker to join our team at Kildare Catholic College, Wagga Wagga.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing programs that promote the spiritual, social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal students, while also building strong relationships with Aboriginal families and communities.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver programs that cater to the diverse needs of Aboriginal students.
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to develop culturally responsive practices.
- Engage with local Aboriginal organisations and Elders to enhance cultural understanding.
- Provide targeted support to Aboriginal students and their families.
- Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be able to connect with Aboriginal Elders and local community organisations.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Australian education system and current issues affecting Aboriginal students.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with all community members.
- Hold a valid NSW Drivers Licence and Working with Children Check.
