We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Operator to join our team at Air Liquide's Air Separation Unit (ASU) in Kwinana, WA. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant and equipment, aligned with Air Liquide's and local regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Operate Plant and Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate the ASU plant and equipment from the Distributed Control System (DCS), ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
- Meet Customer Requirements: Control and operate plant equipment to meet customer requirements for products, including purity, pressure, and flow, within safety limitations.
- Maintain Plant Efficiency: Monitor and analyze equipment performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions to maintain plant efficiency and integrity.
- Perform Plant Startups and Shutdowns: Perform plant startups and shutdowns, as directed by the Facility Manager, ensuring a smooth transition between operational states.
- Perform Liquid Storage and Tanker Loading: Perform liquid storage tank and bulk tanker loading duties, ensuring accurate and efficient operations.
- Permitting and Isolation: Perform permitting duties, including isolations and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), with contracted and in-house maintenance staff.
- Plant Logs and Reporting: Complete daily plant logs, raising any issues with the Plant Manager, and provide regular reports on plant performance and maintenance activities.
- Site Security: Maintain site security by monitoring and controlling access to the site, ensuring a safe and secure working environment.
- Experience: Previous experience with Air Separation Unit operations is strongly advantageous.
- Certifications and Qualifications: Mechanical trade or plant operator certification, engineering degree, or equivalent experience is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Experience with DeltaV and/or Yokogawa DCS systems, knowledge of applicable standards and regulations, such as dangerous goods/substances handling and OHS, and process operation experience are essential.
- Soft Skills: Proven fault-finding skills, computer literacy, knowledge of PLC controls, analysers, and plant instrumentation, experience with safe work permitting processes, and ability to understand process operations and mechanical equipment are required.
- Shift Work: Experience working in a 24/7 continuous shift roster is necessary.
