Key Maintenance Engineer Role at BHP

BHP is seeking a highly skilled Key Maintenance Engineer to join our team. As a Key Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for providing specialist technical expertise to the operation, ensuring robust risk and benefit-based assessment processes are followed.
This role will be based at Goonyella on a Monday to Friday roster, offering flexible travel options. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to solve complex problems and develop improvement initiatives that support business priorities for continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities:- Provide specialist engineering expertise and ensure robust change control processes and documentation standards are followed.
- Participate in reviews and audits and collaborate with discipline engineers across BMA.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to solve complex problems.
- Develop and contribute to the delivery of improvement initiatives which support business priorities for continuous improvement.
- Support and govern the accurate maintenance of the Operation's blueprint (engineering standards, specifications drawings, processes, systems and procedures), ensuring approved modifications of its plant, equipment and infrastructure.
- Establish and maintain close working relationships with relevant departments, suppliers, consultants and contractors.
- Ensure Safety, Constructability, Operability and Maintainability is preserved throughout the design lifecycle process.
- Demonstrate commitment by never breaching procedures, practices or processes required by the Site Safety & Health Management System.
- Validates that material risks for the sub-function are identified and related critical controls are implemented and are effective.
- Provides input into plans, budgets, and targets for the sub-function and delivers against them.
- Identifies and implements G&TS improvement initiatives.
To succeed in this role, you will need to be a degree-qualified Engineer with strong technical skills in a multi-disciplined environment. You will also require previous site-based experience (open cut) in asset integrity and a detailed understanding of engineering principles, standards and processes.
You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Being a collaborative team player, committed to delivering results and able to operate with a high level of autonomy is essential for success in this role.
A salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum is on offer, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including flexible working options, generous paid parental leave policy, extended leave entitlements, and parent rooms.
