Job Opportunity: School Counsellor

We are seeking a qualified School Counsellor to join our team in Cairns. As a School Counsellor, you will provide child and adolescent support services and work with other staff to support students and families.

About the Role

This is a full-time year contract for the year, and is term time only. The successful candidate will have a strong background in counselling and experience working with children and adolescents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct counselling support to students
  • Coordinate support for students with other health professionals
  • Enhance promotion and prevention activities in the school
Requirements
  • Completed a diploma, degree, or postgraduate course in counselling
  • AHPRA registration
  • Experience in a school setting (desirable)
  • HLTAID004 Certificate - Provide Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting (desirable)
  • HLTAID001 Certificate - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (desirable)
  • Current First Aid Certificate and Positive Notice Working with Children (Blue Card)
