About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Groundsperson to join our team at St Margaret Mary's College, Hyde Park. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing as soon as practicable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level gardening care, maintenance, and development of facilities and transportation services for students.
  • Work within a team to provide resource management, a safe and pleasant environment for students and employees, and create a physical environment conducive to learning and safe student movement.
  • Perform minor repairs to school property and equipment as requested.
  • Assist with building and grounds maintenance, gardening, painting, and general cleaning and washing down of facilities.
  • Drive with safety and due care, and assist with College bus pick-ups and drop-offs as required.
Requirements
  • Possess a current HR Licence with experience in driving Heavy Vehicles.
  • Previous experience in a similar position, maintenance and grounds services.
  • Competent in the use and/or maintenance of equipment typically used in gardening, building maintenance, and grounds services.
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal skills with students, parents, teachers, and school administrators.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess repairs quickly to enable maximum safety and comply with Workplace Health and Safety legislation.
