Job Description:
This Graduate Biomedical Engineer role is a dynamic opportunity to develop your technical expertise and contribute to cutting-edge pathology automation.
As a member of our In-House Engineering Team, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and service of laboratory diagnostic instruments and automation systems, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and service laboratory diagnostic instruments and automation systems
- Deploy and integrate new equipment in laboratory settings, ensuring seamless transitions
- Respond to technical issues, resolving them promptly to minimize downtime
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, including inventory management and report generation
- Adhere to WHS policies and compliance regulations, maintaining a safe working environment
- Provide technical support and training to customers and stakeholders, fostering strong relationships
- Contribute to process improvements and knowledge sharing within the team, driving innovation and excellence
- Participate in training programs, including self-learning and hands-on experience, to enhance your skills and knowledge
- Support on-call duties as part of a rostered system, providing 24/7 customer support
- Travel as required for customer support and national training events, expanding your horizons
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will require a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Biomedical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
A valid driver's license and permanent work rights in Australia are also essential.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in MS Windows environments, with knowledge of LIS systems, Middleware Solutions, Linux, CAN-BUS, and interfacing principles being advantageous
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to apply engineering principles to real-world challenges
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and demonstrate strong self-organization
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with customers and colleagues
- A commitment to high service quality, compliance, and continuous improvement
