The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled Regional Psychiatrist to provide clinical leadership, expert advice, consultation, and support to healthcare professionals in the Midwest Region.
- Manage the examination, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients referred to Midwest Mental Health and Community Alcohol and Drugs Service
- Provide assessment, review, consultation, and support in clinical matters via outreach and video conferencing across the Midwest region
Requirements
Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or equivalent qualification
The Medical Board of Australia has established a new expedited pathway to specialist registration, eliminating the need for a specialist assessment with a specialist medical college for those with an accepted qualification
The Hospital
The facility is undergoing redevelopment, including expansion of the emergency department and provision for an Integrated Mental Health Unit and Intensive Care/High Dependency Unit
Midwest Mental Health and Community Alcohol and Drugs Service provides multidisciplinary assessment, treatment, and advice to consumers in the Midwest region with moderate to severe mental health and/or drug and alcohol issues
