About the Role

Rio Tinto is seeking a skilled Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to join our team at Yarwun alumina refinery in Gladstone, Queensland. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical and instrumentation equipment to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair electrical and instrumentation equipment, including motors, pumps, and control systems
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and lubricating equipment, and replacing worn or damaged parts
  • Identify and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the maintenance team leader
  • Work collaboratively with other maintenance team members to achieve maintenance goals and objectives
  • Participate in training and development programs to improve technical skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Valid Australian 'A' grade Electrical licence
  • Proven experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance, preferably in a heavy industry setting
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
