Counsellor Advocate

Job Summary

Method Recruitment Group is seeking a highly skilled Counsellor Advocate to join our team in delivering specialist support services to vulnerable individuals in the community. As a Counsellor Advocate, you will provide trauma-informed therapeutic services to victim survivors of sexual assault and family violence.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver therapeutic services, including assessment, trauma-informed counselling, therapeutic group work, and monitoring of risk and safety.
• Provide advocacy, support, and case management services to clients.
• Maintain accurate and timely case notes and written reports.
• Participate in intake processes and provide crisis care support.

Requirements

• Must be degree-qualified in social work, psychology, family therapy, or a similar discipline.
• Minimum 2 years' relevant therapeutic experience post-qualification.
• Assessment skills, including therapeutic assessment, crisis intervention, risk assessment, and safety planning.
• Knowledge and expertise in working therapeutically with individuals affected by trauma.
• A comprehensive understanding of the issues related to sexual assault and family violence.
