Job Overview

The Accounts Payable Officer plays a vital role in the financial operations of an organization, ensuring seamless and efficient processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the finance inbox and respond to messages promptly to maintain effective communication
  • Manage vendor accounts with accuracy and create new records as necessary
  • Process a high volume of invoices, including matching, batching, and coding for accurate financial reporting
  • Coordinate staff reimbursements and distribute invoices for review and approval
  • Prepare electronic funds transfer (EFT) payments in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Ensure timely payment of invoices within agreed trading terms to maintain positive relationships with suppliers
  • Process project timesheets and staff time/attendance records to facilitate accurate payroll and HR functions
  • Reconcile accounts monthly to maintain financial accuracy and identify any discrepancies or errors
  • Respond to invoice queries and provide timely resolutions to minimize delays and disruptions
  • Maintain accurate and organized records, providing support to the finance team with administrative tasks as required
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a full-function Accounts Payable role, preferably in a similar industry
  • Certificate III in Financial Services or Accounting, with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices
  • A natural problem solver with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Proactive, organized, and reliable, with a focus on delivering accurate outcomes and maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, confident in dealing with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and clients
  • High-level experience across various enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, with a preference for Xero and NetSuite
