Job Title: Comminution Technician

The Main Role of the Comminution Technician involves performing routine maintenance, repairs and fault finding tasks on specialized equipment such as high-pressure grinding rolls, screens and cone crushers at customer sites and in a workshop environment.

This position will work closely with senior supervisors and service management teams to drive business objectives including onsite safety, maintenance efficiency, process improvement and lean principles.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Commit to developing and maintaining a safe working environment that adheres to zero harm standards.
  • Collaborate with the HPGR team to deliver exceptional service and support to clients within the APAC region.
  • Provide technical expertise and assistance while onsite to ensure effective maintenance and repair activities.
  • Manage all onsite maintenance, repair and test tasks as per provided scopes of work.
  • Identify opportunities for improving maintenance processes and recommend solutions to reduce Total Operational Costs (TOC).
  • Develop strong relationships with key customers to ensure their expectations are met and address any issues promptly.
  • Exhibit a collaborative approach to prioritize and satisfy customer needs, ensuring high service levels are achieved.
  • Provide technical guidance to site service supervisors on service and component requirements for contracts.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedules to minimize plant downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Liaise with area managers to ensure installation and commissioning activities are completed efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Show flexibility and adaptability under urgent or breakdown conditions to meet customer demands.

Key Requirements:

  • A minimum Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience working with heavy specialized equipment, preferably high-pressure grinding rolls, hydraulic and rotating equipment.
  • Desirable skills include knowledge of hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, safety protocols, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, as well as basic email skills.
