Clinical Nurse - Renal Unit

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced nurse to join our team on our Renal Unit at Gold Coast Private Hospital.

About the Position:

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting both patients and staff to ensure high levels of patient care is provided. They will have a range of clinical skills to support the assessment and care of patients in an acute care environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate high-level professional nursing practice as evidenced by adhering to AHPRA professional standards, code of ethics and conduct, legislative requirements and Healthscope's policies and processes.
  • Support the nursing team with planning, assessment, implementation and evaluation of excellent standard of evidence-based, person-centred patient care.
  • Foster learning within the unit, by demonstrating and sharing your high-level nursing skills on the job with colleagues, peers, ENs, graduates and students.
  • Maintain your own professional learning and continuous professional development.
  • Act as a valued member of the inter-disciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care by actively contributing to team processes and practices.
  • Collaborate with external partners to ensure patients receive a high quality of care across the healthcare continuum.
  • Maintain professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners, using a customer service mindset, to enable high-quality patient outcomes.

Essential Criteria:

  • Current AHPRA registration.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working on a medical renal ward.
  • Advanced Clinical Skills - Ability to assess delirium and rapid onset of changes in cognitive function.
  • Understanding of the Australian National Commission in Quality and Safety Ten National Standards.
  • Demonstrate the ability to show initiative and work within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Estimated Salary Range: AU$80,000 - AU$120,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
