Senior Principal Electrical Engineer - Substation Primary Engineering

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Principal Electrical Engineer to lead our high-performing design division in delivering substation primary engineering up to 500kV. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the design partner to deliver electrical clearances, perform design calculations, and develop complete design packages.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Primary Substation Design: Lead the design of substation layouts, equipment arrangement, and electrical clearances up to 500kV.
  • Design Calculations: Perform complex design calculations to ensure safe and reliable electrical systems.
  • Design Packages: Develop complete design packages including BOMs and technical specs for HV equipment.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure clash-free, optimised designs.
  • System Studies: Review system studies to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Primary Engineer on major energy infrastructure projects (HV/EHV substations).
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., Bachelor of Engineering).
  • CPEng or working towards it.
  • Membership (or eligibility) with a relevant engineering body (e.g., Engineers Australia).
