Job Overview

V/Line is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Rail Maintenance Manager to join our team in Melbourne.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and participating in the maintenance and renewal of track infrastructure, ensuring its safety and efficiency. This critical role involves maintaining the condition of rail reserves, track materials, and crossings, as well as ensuring compliance with safety, operational, and environmental standards.

Key Accountabilities
  • Track Maintenance & Supervision: Lead and participate in the maintenance and renewal of track infrastructure, including track components and associated crossings.
  • Safety & Risk Management: Ensure a safe work environment by identifying and managing risks and responding to OH&S issues.
  • Customer & Community Engagement: Prioritize customer safety and experience and resolve issues or complaints with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Complete administrative tasks and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration: Foster teamwork, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to improving productivity and efficiency.
About You

We are looking for an individual with strong technical expertise in track maintenance, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to safety. The ideal candidate will have experience in supervising and participating in track renewal and maintenance tasks, as well as a Certificate 3 – Infrastructure and Track Force Protection Coordinator level 3 certificate.
