Job Opportunity

We are seeking a senior drilling professional to oversee drilling activities and personnel, ensuring mine safety and production targets are achieved efficiently. This role will be responsible for directing drilling and associated operations in accordance with the plan as directed by the Drill & Blast Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct drilling and associated operations in accordance with the plan as directed by the Drill & Blast Manager;
  • Manage all aspects of drilling safety, maintaining a safe work environment using business processes and tools;
  • Optimize shift resource allocation and manning levels to ensure sufficient quantity and quality of drilled material is safely achieved;
  • Maintain high standards for drill and blast patterns, ensuring associated equipment is well-maintained in a safe condition;
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve quality outputs at all times;
  • Provide ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring to direct reports;
  • Promote zero-harm practices, improve drilling techniques, and enhance performance and cost efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a senior drilling manager or similar role;
  • Valid driver's license and relevant tickets;
  • Strong supervisory experience and ability to read and understand mine plans;
  • Knowledge of WHS Act and WHS (Mines) Regulations with a strong commitment to safety;
  • Effective communication skills and ability to build positive relationships at all levels.
