The successful candidate will work in our homes for children living in Out of Home Care settings, aged between 11 and 18. You will be part of a dynamic team that provides tailored therapeutic interventions aimed at addressing the unique needs of each child or young person.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized support to children and young people in our care, focusing on their social, emotional, and behavioral development.
- Develop and implement therapeutic plans in collaboration with the clinical and case management teams.
- Build strong relationships with children, young people, and their families, promoting a sense of belonging and connection.
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all children and young people.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in trauma-informed care and youth work.
- Certificate III, Certificate IV, or Diploma in Community Services or Youth Work (or be willing to enroll and complete a Diploma of Community Services or Youth Work, or relevant qualifications of Diploma Level or above).
- Experience working in a Youth Worker position is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to work therapeutically with young people with social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties and young people who have experienced significant trauma and adversity.
- Good understanding of trauma-informed care, and the importance of consistency and stability in the lives of children and young people.
- Experience in utilising a broad range of behaviour support strategies.
- Documentation and reporting writing with a deep commitment to the safeguarding of vulnerable children and young people.
- Ability to build rapport quickly, have resilience, and good professional boundaries.
- A valid NSW Driver's licence and your own insured vehicle.
- A Working With Children Check and Criminal History Check.
- A Current First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain before commencement.
- Competitive hourly rate based on SCHADS Award 3.1.
