Forest and Fire Operations Officer


About the Role:

We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our passionate Forest and Fire Operations team. As a Forest and Fire Operations Officer – Field Team Leader, you will be at the forefront of forest management and fire prevention activities across Victoria's state forests, national parks, and protected public land.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead work groups and coordinate operations to ensure ongoing effectiveness of workcentres.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate a wide range of activities, including emergency response and planned burning operations.
  • Protect the environment and communities while demonstrating expertise in natural resource management.

Requirements:
  • A current manual Drivers Licence.
  • The ability to achieve accreditation and maintain competencies in Crew Leader/Operations Officer Level 1.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Pre-employment screening, including a Declaration and Consent form, a National Police Check, and meeting the medical and fitness requirements outlined in the position description.
  • Eligibility for appointment to this role requires corresponding work rights for the advertised employment period.

Work Environment:

You may be required to deploy across the state, where you may encounter challenging terrains while contributing to both emergency response and planned burning operations.
