Job Overview

We are seeking a Taxation Expert to join our team. As a key member of the team, you will provide trusted tax advisory and compliance services.

  • You will perform tax effect accounting (TEA) for our clients, including monthly TEA reporting and TEA analysis for financial results.
  • Review income tax return disclosures and workpapers, monthly instalment activity statements, annual withholding statements, and other income tax compliance lodgements and payments.
  • Liaise with tax authorities in relation to reviews, administrative matters, and taxpayer programs.
  • Work with service providers and internal stakeholders to ensure our clients comply with their tax obligations and resolve any issues impacting compliance.
  • Advise on tax issues, risks, compliance matters, and regulatory changes impacting operational activities, contracts, systems, business processes, projects, and transactions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements across tax reporting and compliance workflows to enhance efficiency and risk management.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will hold a relevant degree and bring 4-5 years' experience in tax compliance and advisory within a large corporate or Big 4 environment.

  • Knowledge of Australian income tax laws, and the ability to advise on and manage the practical implications for our clients.
  • Strong experience with tax compliance software.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and experience in using accounting software.
  • Experience in the energy & resources industry is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate complex issues and requirements.
  • Ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A 'can-do' attitude and ability to drive continuous process improvement.
