Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our research program, developing world-leading technology for the mining industry.

Csiro Mineral Resources is one of the largest minerals research and development groups globally, delivering innovation and solutions across the mineral resources value chain. We thrive on innovation harnessed by diversity in our teams, supporting individuals to create a dynamic career path.

The Sensing and Sorting research program develops technology that enables processing plants to monitor mineral slurries in real-time. The MEA technology is currently being advanced to a "beta" version, incorporating insights gained from recent field trials.

As a Project Engineer, you will perform project tasks and research development, working closely with our team to develop technical hardware and software improvements. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues with plant installations, modifying analysers, and ensuring compliance with plant standards.

To succeed in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience in engineering, instrumentation, control and automation/software design and development skills, and technical project management experience. You will also require strong communication and interpersonal skills to discuss and obtain information from manufacturers, scientists, and engineers.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary team, utilizing your hands-on approach to solve complex engineering problems. You will also have the opportunity to travel and work at client sites in remote locations in Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop extensive MEA manufacturing documentation
  • Develop initial production channels to provide beta manufacturability
  • Work on technical hardware and software improvements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with plant installations
  • Modify analysers and ensure compliance with plant standards
