We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Support Worker to join our team in making a real difference in Aboriginal health and wellbeing. As a key member of our team, you will work alongside clients and their families to strengthen resilience, promote social and emotional wellbeing, and reduce stigma around mental health in the community.

About This Role:
  • Build strong connections with clients, families, and carers to provide comprehensive support services
  • Develop and implement case management plans to link clients with the right supports and resources
  • Deliver culturally safe programs that address the social and emotional needs of Aboriginal communities
  • Improve access to mental health services within the community through effective partnerships and collaboration
  • Empower community members to take charge of their own health and wellbeing through education and support
  • Work in partnership with mainstream health providers to enhance service delivery and improve outcomes
Your Skills and Qualifications:
  • Mental health sector experience and/or a relevant qualification in health, social sciences, or behavioural studies
  • A strong understanding of Aboriginal cultures and histories, including the impacts of historical trauma and colonialism
  • Ability to set goals and develop plans to meet the unique needs of each client
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with clients, peers, and other stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong organisational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Commitment to teamwork, cultural safety, and evidence-based practice
