Adabas Database Administrator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Adabas database administrator to join our team. As an Adabas database administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and optimizing Adabas database systems. This includes performing routine database maintenance, such as backups and disaster recovery procedures, planning and implementing upgrades, applying patches, conducting performance tuning, utilizing database utilities, and supporting disaster recovery exercises.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and monitor Adabas database systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including backups and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Plan and implement upgrades and maintenance of Adabas and related software products.
  • Apply patches and emergency fixes to ensure database stability and security.
  • Conduct database performance tuning and optimization.
  • Utilize database utilities and third-party tools for monitoring and management.
  • Support disaster recovery exercises and ensure database recoverability.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Adabas database administrator.
  • Strong understanding of Adabas database structures, utilities, and performance tuning techniques.
  • Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning for Adabas.
  • Knowledge of third-party database management and monitoring tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
