Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Health Safety and Environmental Specialist to join our HSEQ team in Brisbane. The successful candidate will work closely with the team to implement risk management processes and programs across our business. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to work on a variety of new and interesting challenges in the Renewables Power Industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the ongoing implementation and review of Shell Energy's HSSE Management System to ensure best-in-class systems support our dynamic business.
  • Manage our HSSE digital platform Lucidity, keeping it up-to-date and pursuing further enhancements to service, simplify and improve where possible.
  • Be a key player in our corporate HSSE committee team, refining the structure and outcomes to have direct positive impact on our workforce.
  • Support investigations and reporting processes, coaching contractors in 'what good looks like' when it comes to quality investigations, sharing lessons more broadly across our organisation.
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections across our business to familiarise yourself with operations and key risks, progressing to developing our annual HSEQ assurance plan and activities.
  • Actively support senior leadership team in rolling out HSSE Improvement Plan initiatives such as Shell Safety Day, World Mental Health Day, and Behavioural Based Safety Programs.
  • Provide guidance and safety support to line management and delivery teams across the business.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of WHS legislation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with safety software systems.
  • Attention to detail, particularly emphasis on reporting requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to undertake safety training to enhance capabilities in the role.
  • Ability to travel.
