Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Contracts Negotiator to join our Joint Systems business division in Brisbane, Australia.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse team that is united in pushing the boundaries of imagination and excellence. As a Senior Subcontracts Specialist, you will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies and approaches to market for network and communications, IT, and defence type goods and services.

You will draft, execute, and manage a range of contracts types spanning construction, IT, and communications equipment, and other defence type hardware. Engage with internal and external stakeholders, maintain relationships with suppliers, drive collaboration to ensure on-time performance and compliance, participate in risk identification, mitigation planning, and progress reporting, and ensure compliance with supply chain management and program corporate governance policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Develop sourcing strategies and approaches to market for network and communications, IT, and defence type goods and services;
  • Draft, execute, and manage a range of contract types including construction, IT, and communications equipment, and other defence type hardware;
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration;
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers to drive collaboration and ensure on-time performance and compliance;
  • Participate in risk identification, mitigation planning, and progress reporting to ensure the successful delivery of projects;
  • E nsure compliance with supply chain management and program corporate governance policies and procedures.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A combination of five (5) years' or more work experience in contracts management or procurement, preferably in an engineering or project delivery organization;
  • A relevant Bachelor's degree in law, commerce, or business;
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders;
  • A good working knowledge of the responsibilities and tasks performed in procurement and contracting, and their interdependencies with other disciplines such as engineering, logistics, and finance;
  • A willingness to work in a team environment and support a dynamic customer.
