Job Description

This role focuses on delivering a delightful experience for external developers by working closely with leads, designers, and product managers to define the technical roadmap and architecture for the Canva Ecosystem.

  • Lead the development of secure and reliable apps and integrations on our developer platform.
  • Cross-team collaboration with the Ecosystem, Platform, and Security groups to work on new ideas and improvements.
  • Mentor engineers and share knowledge and expertise in software development and privacy engineering practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We're looking for an experienced software engineer with:

  • 8-plus years of commercial experience developing complex distributed applications writing services in Java.
  • Disciplined coding practices and experience with code reviews and pull requests.
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Commercial experience with developing APIs with backend web frameworks (desired).
  • Commercial experience with AWS services like DynamoDB, SNS/SQS (desired).
