The primary objective of this role is to maintain cleanliness and safety of hard surface areas across the City of Melbourne's parks by operating street sweepers and waste collection vehicles.
This is a full-time position with overtime opportunities and occasional weekend work as required. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing scheduled street sweeping, removing rubbish prior to sweeping, and ensuring areas are kept clean.
- Perform daily inspections of equipment and report any defects.
- Operate plant, vehicles, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Collect and dispose of waste in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Street sweeping and waste collection across designated park areas.
- Removing rubbish and ensuring areas are kept clean.
- Operating plant, vehicles, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintaining accurate records of work completed, vehicle use, and equipment maintenance.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A valid Medium Rigid (MR) Driver's Licence.
- A current Working with Children Check.
- Understanding of machinery used in street cleaning and maintenance.
- Ability to get in and out of vehicles and perform manual tasks throughout the shift.
