About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to spearhead the development of advanced analytics and business intelligence systems.

Your expertise will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining scalable cloud-based data platforms that drive innovation across our data ecosystem.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead the strategic design, expansion, and optimization of secure, scalable, and high-performing data platforms
  • Implement cloud security best practices within Azure, ensuring data protection through access controls, encryption, and compliance
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, and dbt for efficient data processing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable data solutions
  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment, testing, and monitoring of data workflows
  • Ensure data quality through validation, monitoring, and performance checks across pipelines
  • Document data architectures, workflows, security protocols, and operational procedures thoroughly
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs for seamless integration between internal and external systems

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with modern data stack tools including Snowflake, dbt, and Azure, as well as a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and security principles. They will also possess expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL, with demonstrated experience building robust, scalable data pipelines and performing complex data transformations.

Requirements

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • 7+ years of professional experience, including hands-on work in data engineering and full-stack software development with a strong focus on data-intensive systems
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL, with demonstrated experience building robust, scalable data pipelines and performing complex data transformations
  • Proven track record of designing and maintaining scalable data platforms and pipelines
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline development and automation in cloud environments
  • Experience working with modern data stack tools including Snowflake, dbt, and Azure
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
