We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Financial Services Paralegal to join our Retail Banking group. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial services law, including corporations law, trust law, consumer credit, advertising, privacy, and data protection.

This is a casual part-time role, two days per week, providing both paralegal and administrative support to our Australian-based legal team. You will work under appropriate supervision to support our lawyers with contract review, legal research, drafting of precedent-based contracts, and various administrative tasks.

The successful candidate will have experience working as a paralegal in a busy law firm or in-house legal team, demonstrating strong legal research skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment. A strong interest in financial services law and a willingness to learn are essential.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in financial services law, work with a supportive team, and contribute to the success of our Retail Banking group.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support lawyers with contract review, legal research, and drafting of precedent-based contracts
  • Undertake administrative tasks such as filing, contract functions, meeting and presentation materials preparation, and reviewing various legal documentation
  • Organize and manage files, records, and documents in a matter management system such as Sharepoint and Jira
