We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Correctional Officer to join our team at the NSW Department of Communities and Justice. As a Senior Correctional Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and wellbeing of staff and inmates within a designated area.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the daily activities of Correctional Officers and contribute to the provision of dynamic and static security in the containment and oversight of inmate/offender activities.
- Utilize your proven custodial experience and knowledge to meet the demands of this role efficiently and effectively.
- Represent the Department in an honest, ethical, and professional manner, leading by example.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives.
- Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or relevant custodial experience.
- Ability to drive official vehicles and possess an appropriate level of Driver's License.
- Preparedness to undertake shift work on a rotating roster.
- Maintain proficiency in authorized instruments of restraint.
- Satisfactory completion of a mandatory medical assessment.
- Knowledge of emergency and riot procedures.
- Understanding of reception and discharge procedures, warrants, and bails.
