About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Billing Officer to join our team at The Aushealth Hospital Research Fund Ltd. As a Medical Billing Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely invoicing of private health funds, third-party, and uninsured fees for inpatient, outpatient, and medical services provided by our client hospitals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process, compile, and distribute medical billing accounts on behalf of our clients, including inpatient, outpatient, and other billing as required across multiple states and locations.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders, including patients, Medicare, health funds, and other external parties.
  • Assist in responding to patient inquiries and provide resolution.
  • Maintain patient and client confidentiality at all times.
  • Field patient billing inquiries and provide resolution.
  • Assist with patient refunds.
Requirements
  • Experience and knowledge of medical billing, including health funds claims, and invoicing.
  • Excellent computer literacy skills with proficiency in the MS Office suite.
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and objection handling skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Desirable Skills
  • Previous experience in hospital billing and debt collection.
  • Prior experience in a similar healthcare role.
  • Understanding of private health insurance cover and associated processes.
