Physical Testing Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a skilled Physical Testing Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of physical testing processes.

  • Ensure all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Handle coal samples and process them according to instructions and current best methods.
  • Loading and unloading coal samples from various plant streams.
  • A range of physical tests including sample preparation, sizing, crushing, dividing and sample storage.
  • Transfer validated results into the reporting system
  • Calibration and maintenance of specialized equipment.
Key Qualifications
  • A valid driver's license.
  • A strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Ability to organize work, multitask, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Comfortable with safe manual handling duties, including repetitive lifting.
  • Competent within a strong safety culture.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new systems.
  • Previous coal sampling experience would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Flexible and able to perform shift work and weekend work as required.
