Aged Care Kitchen Assistant

About the Position:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced kitchen assistant to provide support in food preparation and maintenance of cleanliness in the kitchen area.
The primary purpose of this role is to assist in the kitchen, preparing meals, and ensuring the kitchen remains clean and compliant with health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing and presenting breakfast, lunch, and dinner according to resident requirements and preferences
- Providing kitchen assistant services at the facility, including modifying food texture and portioning food accurately
- Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen areas and equipment
- Adhering to occupational, safety, and health requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Must have valid work rights in Australia
- Previous experience in commercial cooking or aged care catering
- Safe food handling practice and hygiene standards with experience in maintaining cleanliness
- Good written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with residents, customers, and team members
- Knowledge of relevant chemicals and safe handling practices and procedures for cooking operations
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
