We are seeking a Mechanical Technician to work in a mining environment.

Job Overview:
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for preparing technical drawings, plans and designs under the direction of engineers and technologists.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work.
  • Assist engineers and technologists in the design of mechanical equipment and plant.
  • Select tools and equipment necessary for tasks.
  • Assemble and install new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems.
  • Estimate material costs and quantities, and machine requirements.
  • Perform and direct field and laboratory tests.
  • Collect and analyse data, carry out complex computations and prepare diagrams.
  • Organise and supervise inspection and maintenance of machines and plant.
  • Evaluate that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • A passion for learning new technical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members.
  • Ability to follow procedures, work autonomously and be self-motivated.
  • Effective time management skills: complete routine tasks, deal with multiple priorities, and project manage workflows.
