The primary goal of this role is to provide support and guidance to individuals who are experiencing financial hardship and need assistance in achieving their financial wellbeing.
About the Job- Deliver high-quality financial counselling services to clients with diverse and complex needs, including those who are victims of financial abuse or family violence.
- Apply a trauma-informed approach, taking into consideration the client's cultural background and personal circumstances, to ensure that they receive the most appropriate and effective support.
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to contribute to strategic and operational outcomes for Client Services.
- Advocate and negotiate on behalf of clients with financial institutions and service providers to achieve the best possible outcome.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on managing their finances and achieving their financial goals.
- Develop and implement individualised plans to address the client's specific financial needs and circumstances.
- Work closely with other professionals and agencies to ensure that clients receive comprehensive support and services.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures to ensure that clients receive the most accurate and effective information.
- A minimum Diploma level qualification in financial counselling or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in financial counselling, including working with vulnerable and at-risk clients.
- Demonstrated understanding and ability to implement trauma-informed approaches to practice.
- Experience in domestic and family violence and financial abuse financial counselling, including risk assessment.
