Job Description

This is a full-time position within the Water and Sewer Branch, supporting our community of 55,000 residents and visitors. Our team is at the centre of environmental, economic and societal change to ensure a more sustainable future.

There are multiple positions available in Dubbo and Wellington.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain specialized equipment and construction plant for water and sewerage reticulation systems.
  • Assist with on-call and emergency response after hours, ensuring the continuous operation of these systems.
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance of the Water and Sewerage Reticulation System, including service connections of both water and sewerage.
  • Record data on trusted performance systems, including Council's MRS and CRM, along with daily operations requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans for water and sewerage infrastructure projects.
  • General Construction Induction Card and relevant industry experience.
  • Previous experience in the water/sewer or construction industry, with administrative skills demonstrating a competent level of literacy, numeracy and basic computer skills.
  • Australian C Class Drivers Licence.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Class MR Drivers licence for heavy vehicles.
  • First Aid Certificate for emergency response situations.
  • RMS Traffic Controllers Certificate for safe traffic management.
  • Certificate III Water Operations (Reticulation) for specialized knowledge.
