Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Obstetric & Gynaecology Consultant to join our dynamic healthcare network. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, education and research within a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee medical student training and provide appraisals of medical undergraduate and trainee medical officers assigned to the unit.
  • Participate in academic and clinical work, including managing patient care in collaboration with Resident Medical Officers, Registrars, fellow Consultants, Midwives, Nurses and Allied Health professionals.
  • Supervise operating lists, participate in Continuous Quality Improvement activities and auditing, and mentor Midwives.
  • Provide teaching to trainees of all levels and disciplines, and participate in ongoing training and CPD requirements.
  • Contribute to clinical research and provide advice and guidance for RANZCOG research requirements.

This role requires participation in a 24/7 on call consultant roster.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • degree qualified in Medicine or equivalent qualification
  • current registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • relevant postgraduate qualifications in obstetrics and gynaecology
  • proven clinical and academic experience in obstetrics and gynaecology
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
