About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager - Chapter Lead to join our team at Commonwealth Bank of Australia. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading high-performing cross-functional engineering teams, driving technical strategy, and contributing to the evolution of our technical squad.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engineers and instill a growth mindset and innovative ways of working
  • Provide expert advice on technology, solution design, and architecture
  • Contribute to the technology strategy and shape the evolution of the technical squad
  • Prioritize backlog, define delivery roadmaps, and decide which problems to invest in solving
  • Champion thought leadership for process architecture and develop options for improving and updating current capability
  • Act as an escalation, advice, and decision-making point for Pega Case Management
  • Review and contribute to reference architecture and platform initiative involving workflow
  • Take responsibility for nominated technical assets related to areas of expertise, including roadmaps and technical direction
Requirements
  • Experience in leading high-performing cross-functional engineering teams with a solid technical background
  • Effective communication of engineering practice standards and consistent ways of working across squads and CBA, aligning to global best practice
  • Pega CLSA Certification is a must-have
  • Experience working with microservices architecture, API gateways, and restful API design patterns
  • Sound grasp of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), Cloud cost optimizations, data integrity, system security, and unit testing
  • Understanding of monitoring tools and event-based application models with Kafka
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline – Jenkins, Github Actions
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices – composing Yaml pipelines, Infrastructure as code
