The Director of Nursing (DON) Aged Care for the Castlemaine campus reports to the Executive Director Clinical and Aged Care Services and is a key member of an interdisciplinary team of senior leaders who work together to develop innovative and sustainable ways to deliver high-quality care to our community.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the highest level of care is provided to patients, residents in the Aged Care Services on the Castlemaine campus of Castlemaine Health.
- Deliver evidence-based, safe, and effective clinical care and support.
- Consult and work collaboratively with internal and external service providers, partners, stakeholders, staff, and consumers to achieve service innovations and continuously improve practices.
- Champion Castlemaine Health's values and purpose and promote and drive commitment to the Health Service's strategic objectives.
- Manage work practices for the health and wellbeing of staff, promote and adopt a balanced and positive approach to work, and ensure health and safety risks are addressed in a working environment free from harassment and discrimination.
- Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nurses and Midwives Board of Australia.
- At least three years' experience in senior roles in health management.
- Preferred - postgraduate qualification in health or management or working towards same, and experience working in residential aged care.
- Demonstrated strong values-driven leadership skills with a commitment to working collaboratively to achieve agreed organisational vision and objectives utilising an evidenced-based quality approach.
