We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist/Mental Health Specialist to join our team at Australian Psychological Society Limited.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate evidence-based group therapy programs within inpatient and outpatient services, enhancing understanding of mental health concerns and developing adaptive coping strategies for patients with moderate to severe psychopathology.
  • Contribute to a multidisciplinary approach to patient-centred, trauma-informed care.
  • Assess and manage crisis situations.
  • Provide short-term, solution-focused individual therapy.
  • Develop and facilitate specialized therapeutic programs, including the creation of program resources.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated excellence in assessing and delivering therapeutic interventions for adults experiencing mental health concerns.
  • Understanding of and experience in applying Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work efficiently and effectively.
  • Registration with AHPRA (as applicable).

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Recognised endorsement of Clinical Psychology practice with AHPRA and board approval for supervision.
  • Understanding of and experience in Compassion Focused Therapy/Mindful Self Compassion.
  • Understanding of and experience in treating addiction.
  • Training and experience in delivering Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
  • Art-based/Creative Therapies.
