Support Special Education Itinerant Students

This role involves supporting students with Individualized Education Programs (IEP) in a special education setting.
- The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and adolescents, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Assist students with various needs related to academic, behavioral, social, emotional, and physical support.
- Participate with students in learning activities off school grounds as required.
- Facilitate student mastery of grade-level curriculum or Alternate Academic Achievement Standards.
- Manage behaviors that impact the student?s ability to access the curriculum.
- Perform instructional and classroom management supports, as well as related clerical tasks to support teachers and other professional staff.
- Associate?s degree or higher required; Bachelor?s degree preferred.
- College course work should include a minimum of nine credit-hours related to education field such as behavior management, instructional strategies.
- One year of experience working with students in structured educational situations preferred.
This position may require frequent bending, walking, and lifting of objects/equipment up to 50 pounds. Outside duty may be required, and flexible scheduling is necessary.
