Tax Compliance Expert

As a Tax Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns to ensure compliance with Australian regulations. This is a critical role within our organisation that requires strong knowledge of tax laws and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and review tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Support tax planning initiatives to optimise financial performance
- Manage GST and BAS submissions accurately and on time
- Provide expert advice on tax-related matters to internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with the accounting and finance team to maintain accurate records and processes
- Assist in audits and liaise with external advisors as required
- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and their implications for the business
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Proven experience in tax compliance and planning within the retail industry or similar sector
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws, including GST and BAS reporting
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex tax matters clearly
- Certification such as CPA or CA (or working towards) is highly regarded
