Our company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This exciting opportunity will allow you to work closely with principal/lead engineers, drive project design, and support the growing electrical team.

The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in design engineering related to electrical substations, renewable energy, and transmission/distribution sectors. They will also have experience in solar PV and/or battery energy storage systems (BESS) and in-depth knowledge of the Australian energy environment.

Key responsibilities include completing and reviewing power system calculations and modeling using industry-leading software, leading design projects from bidding concept to commissioning, and undertaking site audits/inspections. The ideal candidate will also have strong leadership abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for mentoring young engineers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 10 years of expertise in design engineering related to electrical substations, renewable energy, and transmission/distribution sectors
  • Experience in solar PV and/or battery energy storage systems (BESS)
  • In-depth knowledge of the Australian energy environment, particularly NEM grid connection requirements, the National Electricity Rules, and AEMO/NSP guidelines
  • Strong understanding of earthing, protection, cable, and HV design
  • Proficiency in applying Australian Standards such as AS/NZS 3000, AS2067, AS62271, and relevant design standards and statutory regulations
  • Engineers Australia recognized tertiary engineering qualification
  • Current RPEQ/CPEng certification, or the eligibility and willingness to obtain these
