Senior Building Approvals Specialist

About the Role
The primary function of this role is to ensure that building approval processes are implemented in accordance with legislative requirements. This involves coordinating and implementing various tasks, including providing public education and fire prevention advice, inspecting buildings for special fire services and alternative solutions, and providing professional community safety advice and assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluation of plans and specifications for compliance with referral jurisdiction, regulations, Australian standards, codes, and policy requirements.
- Inspection of building special fire services for compliance with building development approvals, regulations, Australian standards, policy requirements, and engineering design solutions.
- Maintenance of a comprehensive and expert working knowledge of relevant legislation, codes, standards, and policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Manual Medium Rigid (MRV) driver's licence.
- Building Fire Safety Level 3 qualifications or current equivalent.
- Current Station Officer qualifications or be eligible for appointment as a Station Officer.
