About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeping Leader to join our team at the Wickaninnish Inn, a renowned Relais & Châteaux property located on the stunning West Coast of Vancouver Island.

As a Housekeeping Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and service are maintained throughout the Inn. You will be responsible for leading a team of housekeeping staff, managing the day-to-day operations of the department, and implementing systems and processes to drive efficiency and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Lead a team of housekeeping staff to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and service are maintained.
    • Manage the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Guest Service and Experience
    • Ensure that all guests receive exceptional service and that their needs are met promptly and efficiently.
    • Respond to guest complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Departmental Administration
    • Manage the housekeeping budget, including forecasting, planning, and controlling expenses.
    • Prepare and submit reports on departmental performance, including key metrics and trends.
  • Quality and Compliance
    • Ensure that all housekeeping staff are trained and equipped to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and service.
    • Conduct regular inspections to ensure that departmental standards and health and safety regulations are being met.
Requirements
  • Experience and Qualifications
    • Minimum 2 years management or leadership experience in the service industry or 4 years of experience in a housekeeping department.
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in hospitality or a related field an asset.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
    • Knowledge of standard operating financial statements and budgeting processes.
    • Working knowledge of relevant platforms, including Maestro PMS and Microsoft Office suite.
