Aboriginal Specialist Therapist

Our multidisciplinary team at the IVPRS provides expert sexual assault counselling, case management and crisis care in a trusted, community-led role. We support and empower Aboriginal clients to overcome trauma.
About This Opportunity- Make a meaningful difference in the lives of Aboriginal communities by offering specialist therapeutic and case management services to child, adolescent and adult victims of sexual assault and their non-offending family members.

- Benefit from ongoing education and training as part of a professional development plan to enhance your skills and knowledge in complex trauma and trauma-informed practice.
- Hold a tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling and be eligible for appropriate professional registration or association membership.
- Demonstrate experience in complex trauma and trauma-informed practice, preferably within a Violence, Abuse & Neglect (e.g. sexual assault, child protection or domestic violence) or related setting.
- Exhibit assessment and case management skills with children, young people and adults, along with an understanding of the inter-related dynamics and effects of sexual assault, physical abuse and neglect and domestic violence.
