About the OpportunityThe Australian Psychological Society Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gambling Psychologist to join our team. As a key member of our Gamble Aware team, you will work closely with clients experiencing gambling-related challenges or harm, providing professional psychological treatment and support.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct psychological assessments and treatment for clients with gambling harm and relevant comorbidities.
- Participate in case conferences and multidisciplinary team meetings to optimize client care.
- Engage in community events to build links with key stakeholders and raise awareness of gambling harm.
- Foster open communication and collaboration within the team, addressing stakeholder queries and concerns in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the achievement of clinic and team outcomes by participating in projects and activities as specified by the Clinic Director.
We are seeking a Gambling Psychologist who has:
- Full and current registration in Australia as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Demonstrable understanding and experience in complying with Good Clinical Practice, regulatory, ethical, privacy, and other relevant guidelines.
- Experience in the provision of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
- Experience in the treatment and assessment in the area of gambling (desirable).
- Experience working with First Nations clients and CALD communities (desirable).
- Experience in community engagement activities (desirable).
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Valid work rights for Australia.
- Completion of all role-required pre-employment or background checks in terms satisfactory to the University.
