SA Health is seeking a skilled Medical Scientist to join our team in Genetics and Molecular Pathology. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and make a real difference in the lives of South Australians.
About the Role:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for performing complex tests for cancer and non-cancer related disorders, analyzing results, and providing accurate interpretations.
- They will also be required to demonstrate expertise in cytogenetics, molecular genetics, or biochemical genetics.
- In this role, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform standard diagnostic procedures and analyze results using scientific specialist knowledge.
- Apply professional judgement to select and apply new and existing methods and techniques.
- Validate Quality Control at the supervisory level under the direction of management.
Requirements:
- A degree at Australian Qualifications Framework level 7 awarded from a university in Australia with > 70% of subjects relevant to the field of pathology.
- Or a degree at Australian Qualifications Framework level 7 with subjects relevant to the field of pathology awarded by an overseas tertiary institution if the qualification is assessed as equivalent to a degree accredited by the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists.
