Become an Animal Expert

This role presents an opportunity to contribute to the delivery of animal education programs in line with city policies and strategies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the Animal Management team, Rangers, and other stakeholders for enforcement and compliance of animal management by-laws and legislation.
- Assist in creating and reviewing information for the city's website and pamphlets related to animal management.
- Plan, coordinate and participate in various events, including animal health programs within indigenous communities, animal behaviour workshops, and animal management exhibit stalls at public events.
- Develop and implement high-quality public education programs on animal behaviour, care, and responsible pet ownership.
- Collaborate with the Animal Education and Policy Officer to implement animal management strategies and education programs.
- Respond to complaints and referrals in a timely manner, prioritize and manage caseloads, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports.
Key qualifications include a Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services or equivalent experience, Class C Drivers Licence, Working with Children Clearance, and National Police Records Check.
Benefits include a base salary, superannuation, six weeks annual leave, fifteen days personal leave, and other entitlements.
